Create a new report
Report Studio guides you through a step-by-step wizard to configure your report's format, layout, dashboard source, and name before opening the canvas.
Report Studio uses a step-by-step wizard to guide you through the initial setup of a new report. By the time you reach the canvas, your output format, layout, name, and dashboard source are already configured, and the canvas opens ready to use.
Report type
Choose the output format for your report. Only one format can be selected at a time. The format you select determines the canvas configuration when the report opens.
PDF and PPTX canvases apply format-specific defaults for page size, orientation, margins, and units, while XLSX opens in landscape orientation by default.
Layout
Select a layout to use as the basis for your report. Only one layout can be selected at a time. Layouts are organized into 3 categories/options:
Layout type | Description |
Start from scratch (blank) | A blank canvas with no pre-placed elements. Always available regardless of the format selected. |
System generated templates | Out-of-the-box templates provided by QBeeQ. |
User-generated templates | Custom templates created by users in your tenant. See Templates for more information. |
Dashboard
The dashboard selector displays all Sisense dashboards you have access to. Any level of access (view or edit) is sufficient; no additional permissions are required. Use the search input or scroll to find the dashboard you want to use as the data source, then click it to select it. Only one dashboard can be selected at a time.
At this time, reports can only be created using a single dashboard. Support for selecting multiple dashboards when creating a report is planned for a future release.
Report name
Provide a name for your report (optional). Report names are limited to 64 characters, must be unique within the system, and will be validated inline. If skipped, the report name defaults to the name of the selected dashboard.
