Report Studio
Reports
Report Studio's Reports list is the searchable, filterable home view where you find, sort, duplicate, and delete every report you have access to.
The Reports list is where you manage your Report Studio reports. It displays every report you have access to in a searchable, filterable table and lets you create, open, rename, duplicate, and delete reports. It is accessed from the Reports icon in the left navigation toolbar.
Table view
The table loads sorted by most recently created or modified first. Columns are sortable by clicking their headers. Only one column can be sorted at a time. Use the sort dropdown to access additional sorting options.
Column | Description |
Type | Displays an icon representing the report's output format: PDF, PPTX, or XLSX |
Name | The report name |
Elements | The number of pages or slides and elements in the report |
Status | The report's current status: Draft or Published |
Schedule | Indicates whether the report has associated schedules. Click to view a summary of schedules and their active or inactive status. |
Owner | The user who created the report |
Dashboard | The name of the source dashboard selected when the report was created |
Last Modified | When the report was last changed, and the name of the user who made the change. If no edits have been made since creation, the creation date is shown. |
Report visibility
What appears in the Reports list depends on your Sisense role. System Admins see all reports across every tenant. Tenant Admins see all reports within their tenant. Admins see all reports. Designers see only reports whose source dashboard has been shared with them.
Report visibility is controlled by dashboard shares, not by individual report permissions. A report cannot be shared independently of its source dashboard.
If an Admin opens a report whose source dashboard has not been shared with them, Report Studio prompts them with the option to grant themselves access before opening the canvas. Confirming shares the dashboard automatically and opens the report.
Search
Use the search input at the top of the table to find reports by Name or Dashboard. Search is case-insensitive and supports partial matches. If filters are active, search results are limited to the already-filtered set.
Filter
Several filters sit above the table and can be used in combination:
Filter | Description | |
My reports | Narrows the table to reports you own
Type | The report format | All, PDF, PPTX, or XLSX |
Owner | Narrows the table to schedules belonging to a specific owner or shows all owners
Status |
See Report Status for more information. | Draft,Published |
Schedule | Shows reports that are associated with one or more schedules | All, Scheduled, Not scheduled |
Filters are retained when you navigate away from the Reports list. Opening a report canvas and returning to the Report list will clear all active filters.
Row actions
Hovering over a row or row contents reveals inline actions. Available actions depend on your role and whether you own the report.
Rename report
Renaming a report updates its name everywhere the name is referenced, including the canvas title and any distribution emails tied to the report.
Change report status
A report's status (Draft or Published) is shown as a dropdown in the Status column. If you have edit permission, click the pill to change the status. See Report status and schedules for more information about changing Report statuses and the effect on Schedules.
View related schedules
If a report has one or more schedules associated with it, the schedule count appears as a link in its row. Clicking the link opens a popover showing the schedule name(s) and current status. Click See schedule details to navigate to the full schedule view.
View source dashboard
Click the hyperlink to be taken to the source dashboard associated with the report.
Duplicate report
Hover over a report row and click the duplicate icon. A copy is created immediately and appears in the table. Duplicates include the original report format, canvas settings, and canvas content. Duplicate reports are always created in Draft status regardless of the original's status.
Delete report
Only the report owner and users in admin roles can delete a report. Reports associated with an inactive schedule can be deleted, but a warning is displayed before confirming.
Reports associated with an active schedule cannot be deleted. The schedule must be set to inactive first.
