Hide Filter Panel

The Hide Filter Panel plugin automatically collapses the Sisense filter panel for users with the Viewer role. This keeps the dashboard interface clean and focused for end users who view dashboards but do not need access to filter controls, without affecting the experience of users with higher-privilege roles.

Installation and configuration

The Hide Filter Panel plugin can be installed by an Admin, following the directions in Installing QBeeQ Plugins.

Operating system and version support:

  • Linux - Latest
  • Windows - Latest

How it works

Hide Filter Panel runs automatically on every dashboard load. No configuration is required after installation.

â„šī¸

This plugin defines behavior globally for all dashboards within an environment

When a dashboard finishes loading and a refresh begins, the plugin checks the role of the current user:

  • Viewer role: The filter panel is collapsed, and its toggle control is hidden. The user cannot expand the filter panel.
  • All other roles (Designer, Admin, etc.): The filter panel remains visible and fully accessible. No changes are made to the interface.

Limitations

Filter panel state on initial load

The plugin applies its behavior on refreshstart, which fires after the dashboard has initially loaded. On very fast connections or cached dashboards, there may be a brief moment where the filter panel is visible before it is collapsed for Consumer users.

Workaround / recommendation: This is a cosmetic delay of approximately 200ms and does not expose filter functionality. No action is required.
