Release notes for Report Studio

This page lists every Report Studio release, newest first, so you can see what's new, what's improved, and what's been fixed in each version. Each entry is labeled with its version number (Q[year].[month].[day]) and marked as:

  • 🚀 New Functionality
  • 💫 Enhancement
  • 🛠️ General/Bug Fix

To get the latest changes, see Upgrading QBeeQ Plugins.

💫 Q2026.09.16 | Notification when switching a report to XLSX

When you change a report's format from PDF or PowerPoint to XLSX, Report Studio now tells you up front that only table and pivot widgets are supported and that other widgets will be removed from the assets list. You know what to expect before you export.

💫 Q2026.09.16 | Assets list shows only Excel-compatible widgets

For XLSX reports, the assets list now shows only table and pivot widgets, so you can't select anything that won't export. Each widget exports as its own sheet in the workbook.

🛠️ Q2026.09.16 | Pivot tables export correctly to XLSX

Pivot tables now export to Excel exactly as designed, with no manual cleanup needed afterward.

🚀 Q2026.09.10 | Tenant-based scoping for reports, schedules, and recipients

When you access Report Studio through a tenant, you see only that tenant's reports and schedules, and you can select only recipients within that tenant. This keeps multi-tenant environments strictly segmented.

🚀 Q2026.09.10 | Data source access check for schedule recipients

Before a schedule is saved, Report Studio now confirms that every recipient can see the data behind its reports, so no one receives an empty report. If a recipient lacks access, you'll see who it is, which data source is affected, and how many elements are affected. You can then share access or remove the recipient directly from the schedule editor.

🚀 Q2026.09.10 | Sisense built-in groups as schedule recipients

You can now select built-in Sisense user groups as schedule recipients, in addition to individual users.

💫 Q2026.09.10 | New {ServerAddress} and {TenantName} tokens

You can now insert ServerAddress and TenantName tokens into schedule email subjects and messages, report headers and footers, and text boxes. ServerAddress is also now available for export file names, alongside the existing TenantName token, which makes it easier to reuse one report across environments and tenants.

🚀 Q2026.09.10 | Launch Report Studio from the dashboard

Report Studio can now be opened directly from the dashboard toolbar. This gives designers access even in embedded experiences where the Sisense top navigation bar is hidden.

💫 Q2026.09.10 | Left navigation bar support

If the Sisense left navigation bar is enabled, the Report Studio icon now appears there.

💫 Q2026.09.10 | Hidden header rows and Plain number format for custom tables

Custom-rendered tables can now hide their header row, which is useful for single-column tables used as value labels. A new per-column Plain number format removes thousands separators from fields like IDs and work order numbers.

🛠️ Q2026.09.10 | Rendering, layout, and delivery fixes

Side panels no longer scroll horizontally when their contents are wide. Tables and pivots now populate instead of appearing empty, and deleted reports stay deleted.

🚀 Q2026.08.10 | Report Studio Deliver (beta): scheduled report distribution

From a published report, you can now send immediately or set up a one-time or recurring delivery to Sisense users and groups. You can bundle multiple reports into one zipped send of up to 25MB, and compose and preview the delivery email before it goes out.

🚀 Q2026.08.10 | Server-side scheduled delivery

Scheduled reports are generated and sent server-side in the background. They go out on time without anyone being logged in.

🚀 Q2026.08.10 | Job History

You can see a full record of every report sent, to whom, and when, alongside the schedule and report it came from. When a delivery fails, you can open the job to see why.

💫 Q2026.08.10 | Redesigned Reports view

All reports you have access to are now in one place, in list or card view. You can search by name and filter by type, owner, status, or schedule. Switching a report from Draft to Published with one click makes it available for scheduling.

🚀 Q2026.08.10 | Schedules view

You can manage all schedules in one place:

  • Expand any schedule to see its details.
  • Turn schedules on or off with one click.
  • Filter by owner or by schedules with issues.
  • Switch between list, timeline, and calendar views.

Safeguards prevent you from deleting reports tied to active schedules.

💫 Q2026.06.29 | Widgets render with SisenseJS

Canvas widgets now render with SisenseJS instead of an iFrame by default. What you see on the dashboard is what appears on the canvas, and widgets load faster.

💫 Q2026.06.29 | Share prompt for unshared dashboards

If you open a report built on a dashboard that isn't shared with you, you're now prompted to add yourself to that dashboard's share list. Your user is added, but the dashboard is not republished automatically.

🚀 Q2026.06.29 | Session logs

You can enable console logs for your Report Studio sessions from a new settings panel. Logs can be downloaded from the overflow menu and attached to support requests for faster troubleshooting.

💫 Q2026.06.29 | Deep-linkable report URLs

Report URLs are now shareable and bookmarkable. Opening a report updates the address bar, and refreshing the page brings you back to the same report.

🛠️ Q2026.06.29 | Reliable autosave and no more empty duplicate reports

Reports now save reliably. Widgets from duplicated dashboards without unique widget IDs now load on the canvas, so empty duplicate reports no longer accumulate in your list.

🛠️ Q2026.06.29 | Back to Dashboard link

The Back to Dashboard link now navigates correctly to the source dashboard and respects dashboard permissions.

🛠️ Q2026.06.29 | Gauge Chart re-renders on resize

Gauge Chart widgets now re-render when their container is resized, so the display stays accurate as you adjust the layout.

🚀 Q2026.06.02 | Designer access to Report Studio

Non-admin users can now use Report Studio, with access controlled by the allowedRoles and authorizedUserGroups settings in config.js. By default, only Designers in a Sisense user group named QBeeQ Report Studio Users can open it, and you can change the allowed roles and group in config.js (see Roles and access). Non-admin users see only reports based on dashboards already shared with them, and no new permissions are introduced.

🚀 Q2026.06.02 | Guided report creation

A short wizard now walks you through choosing a format, a starting point (blank canvas, system template, or custom template), a report name, and a source dashboard. The canvas then opens ready to build.

💫 Q2026.06.02 | Format-aware canvas defaults

The canvas now opens sized for your report format:

  • PDF: Letter and A0–A4, with more sizes configurable in config.js.
  • PowerPoint: 16:9.
  • XLSX: landscape.

For PDF and PowerPoint reports, you can adjust page size, orientation, margins, and page color from canvas settings. You can also override the background color of individual pages from the left panel.

💫 Q2026.06.02 | Header and footer settings

You can now turn the report header and footer on or off and adjust their height, colors, and text from the H/F button on the canvas toolbar.

💫 Q2026.06.02 | Redesigned export dialogs

The PDF, PowerPoint, and XLSX export dialogs now support token-based file names with a live preview. You can choose exactly which pages, slides, or tables to include, and the export button label reflects exactly what will be generated.

🚀 Q2026.06.02 | Export by dimension

You can export a single report as multiple files, each filtered to a different dimension value, bundled into a ZIP archive. The Skip empty dimensions option is on by default so you don't get files with no data.
