Load Widget on Demand
By default, Sisense widgets load and refresh automatically when a dashboard is opened or updated. This can lead to unnecessary data queries, slower load times, and increased resource usage, especially on dashboards with many widgets. Load Widget on Demand allows dashboard designers to configure individual widgets so they only load when manually refreshed.
Installation and configuration
The Load Widget on Demand plugin can be installed by an Admin, following the directions in Installing QBeeQ Plugins.

Enabling Load Widget on Demand
Load Widget on Demand is enabled at the widget level. To enable:
- Click the three-dot widget menu
- Click the Load On Demand option
- Refresh the dashboard
When enabled, the widget displays a “Refresh” button instead of loading automatically.
If you are enabling Load on Demand for multiple widgets, it is recommended to make all your changes first, then refresh the dashboard.
Using Load Widget on Demand
Widget Editor
When the Load Widget on Demand is enabled, widgets in the widget editor will also display a refresh button. As changes are made in the Data Panel and Design Panel, the widget will need to be refreshed in order to display the changes.
Dashboard
When the Load Widget on Demand is enabled, widgets on the dashboard will display a “Refresh” button instead of loading automatically. After loading, the widget will continue to display the button, which can be used to refresh (update) the widget on-demand.
